The AVA Male Bayonet Fitting is an adapter for using threaded accessories on an AVA or Kärcher pressure gun. It has a ¼ thread and is designed for use at a maximum pressure of 160 bar. How do you use the male bayonet (1/4")?
You start the installation by applying a suitable seal, such as PTFE tape, to the 1/4" thread of your desired accessory to ensure a watertight connection. Next, screw the AVA Male Bayonet firmly onto the accessory using a suitable wrench. Once the adapter and the accessory form a solid unit, you can press the bayonet end into your AVA gun or lance and turn it a quarter turn to lock it in place.
It is important to check before each session that the threaded connection remains leak-free and that the bayonet locks fully into place. Because this fitting is often used for heavy-duty accessories, the rubber O-ring on the bayonet side deserves extra attention. Regular inspection for cracks and the occasional application of a small amount of acid-free grease helps keep the coupling smooth and prevent leaks under high pressure. After use, the adapter can remain on the accessory, ready for the next job.
