How do you use the male bayonet (1/4")?
You start the installation by applying a suitable sealant, such as PTFE tape, to the 1/4" thread of your desired accessory to ensure a watertight connection. Then, tighten the AVA Male Bayonet firmly onto the accessory using a suitable wrench. Once the adapter and accessory form one solid unit, you can press the bayonet side into your AVA gun or lance and turn it a quarter turn to complete the locking.
It is important to check before each session that the threaded connection is still leak-free and that the bayonet fully engages in the lock. Because this fitting is often used for heavy accessories, the rubber O-ring on the bayonet side deserves extra attention. Regular inspection for cracks and the occasional application of a small amount of acid-free grease helps keep the coupling smooth and prevents leaks under high pressure.
