What's so special about the Old Leather Softener?
Softener is a purely synthetic oil that does not degrade. Because we regularly work for museums, we use only products that do not break down over time. Therefore, this product contains no binding agents other than a penetrator (shake well before and during use!). By penetrating, we mean rubbing in with a saturated cloth or sponge. For antique leather or the back of leather, the oil can be applied using a spray bottle, for example. Always try to saturate both sides of the leather.

How do you use the Leather Softener Oil?
Thoroughly clean the leather beforehand and degrease it if necessary for better absorption. Apply the Softener Oil with a sponge or a soft cloth, preferably to the back (flesh side) of the leather if accessible, as the oil absorbs faster there. When treating the top side, distribute the oil thinly and evenly and then let the leather rest for a few days so that the oil can fully penetrate.
Repeat the process if the leather still feels stiff, but avoid over-saturation. Gently massage the leather with your hands in between to mechanically loosen the fibers.
