What is so special about the Masking Tape 4400?
The HPX Masking Tape 4400, commonly referred to as "Gold Tape," is the professional standard for masking in the automotive and detailing sectors. This tape is made from special Washi paper, making it extremely thin yet highly tear-resistant. Unlike standard masking tape from the hardware store, this tape leaves a razor-sharp paint line and prevents polishing compound or paint from seeping under the edge. The tape is UV-resistant and leaves no adhesive residue for up to 4 months after application. For detailers, this is the ideal tape for protecting rubber, plastics, and emblems during polishing, as it is heat-resistant and does not come loose due to the friction of the polishing machine.

How do you use the Masking Tape 4400?
Ensure the surface is dry and dust-free. Apply the tape to the areas you wish to protect, such as unpainted plastic, window seals, or gaps between panels. Press the edges down firmly with your finger or a plastic spatula to ensure an airtight seal. Thanks to its thin structure, you can easily apply the tape around curves without it wrinkling. Finished polishing or spraying? Then preferably remove the tape at an angle of 45° to 90°. Although the tape can remain in place for a long time, it is best for the paintwork to remove it as soon as the work is completed.
