X-Cut Abrasive Disc 1500
Rupes X-Cut sanding discs are made with a unique abrasive material that leaves a soft and even sanding pattern that is easy to polish out. Because these pads are soft and flexible, they will easily absorb small movements (shaping, rolling) to ensure even removal. This makes them the ideal pads for heavy-duty corrective work on flat and shaped panels.
Wet sanding is a complex and advanced process that requires considerable knowledge and experience to master. Therefore, it is NOT recommended to do this without some practice. Sanding removes large amounts of paint per session, and a paint thickness gauge is more than welcome.

RUPES X-CUT ABRASIVE DISC 1500
What is so special about the X-cut Abrasive Disc 1500?
Do you want to quickly and extremely evenly sand away deep paint defects, orange peel, or dust particles in the paint? The Rupes X-Cut Abrasive Disc 1500 is a premium sanding disc with a diameter of 125 or 150 mm, specially developed for wet sanding. Thanks to the P1500 grit size, this disc offers aggressive yet extremely controlled sanding power.
What makes the X-Cut discs unique is the flexible foam layer with a fabric backing onto which the aluminium oxide abrasive grains are applied. This construction ensures perfect pressure distribution and adapts effortlessly to the contours and curves of the bodywork. As a result, you sand with an extremely homogeneous scratch pattern, which significantly accelerates the subsequent polishing steps and minimizes the risk of burn-through.
MANUAL
How do you use the X-cut Abrasive Disc 1500?
Ensure that the surface to be treated is thoroughly washed and completely free of dirt or tar to prevent deep scratches during sanding. Attach the X-Cut sanding disc to a suitable interface pad on your orbital sander or polisher (such as the Rupes Duetto or a similar DA machine with a short stroke).
Wet both the surface and the sanding disc with clean water (optionally with a drop of mild, biodegradable shampoo as a lubricant). Place the machine flat on the surface and start it at a low to medium speed. Move the machine over the paint in calm, overlapping strokes without applying pressure; let the machine and the sanding disc do the work. Keep the surface constantly wet during sanding. Regularly wipe away the sanding sludge with a squeegee or microfiber cloth in between to check your progress, and polish the P1500 sanding scratches afterwards with a coarse compound and a wool or coarse foam pad.
