What is so special about the BP-M D125 M14 Backing Plate?
The FLEX BP-M D125 M14 is a professional, medium-hard backing plate designed for use on rotary polishers with an M14 connection (such as the well-known FLEX PE 14-2). With a diameter of 125mm, this is the standard size for most polishing tasks, perfect for 130mm to 140mm pads. What sets this backing plate apart is the high-quality foam layer between the thread and the Velcro.
This layer acts as a shock absorber that compensates for surface irregularities and distributes pressure evenly, significantly reducing the risk of paint damage or "holograms" during rotary polishing.

How do you use the BP-M D125 M14 Backing Plate?
Screw the backing plate directly onto the M14 spindle of your rotary polisher. Use the spindle lock button on the machine to tighten the plate hand-tight (tools are usually not required). Attach a suitable polishing pad exactly in the center of the Velcro surface. Because a rotary machine generates more heat than a dual-action (DA) machine, it is important to keep the plate flat during operation and not put constant pressure on the edges. After finishing the work, you can easily unscrew the plate. Regularly check that the Velcro layer is free of accumulated polishing compound to ensure maximum adhesion for your pads.
