CLAY SPONGE
The ADBL Clay Sponge is a decontamination sponge with a polymer layer that replaces the traditional clay bar. It works faster and easier, and pulls tar, resin, asphalt, insect residue, and other stubborn buildup from your paint. After use, simply rinse it off, let it dry, and it is ready for the next session.
ADBL CLAY SPONGE
What is so special about the Clay Sponge?
Working with a traditional clay bar is effective, but takes time and patience, and dropping it once means you have to throw it away. ADBL's Clay Sponge offers the same result in a much more practical way: a sponge with a polymer layer that pulls the contamination out of your paint.
The polymer layer tackles everything embedded in the surface: tar, tree sap, asphalt, insect residue, and other stubborn remnants. With a working surface of approximately 18 x 15 cm, you cover much more per movement than with a clay bar, making a full car ready significantly faster. Moreover, the sponge fits firmly in the hand, making it easier to work evenly.
Two points of attention. Always work with a lubricant like ADBL Slippy on a wet surface, never dry. And do not use the sponge in combination with solvent-based products such as tar removers, as these will irreparably damage the polymer layer. If your car is heavily contaminated, treat that dirt separately first with a tar or adhesive remover before using the sponge. Also, always keep the sponge below 40 °C.
MANUAL
How do you use the Clay Sponge?
- Wash the car thoroughly first, preferably using the two-bucket method. Pre-treat heavily contaminated areas with a tar or adhesive remover and rinse them off well.
- Spray the panel to be treated generously with a lubricant such as ADBL Slippy. Work panel by panel and never let the surface dry out.
- Move the sponge with light pressure over the wet surface in straight lines: first in one direction, then crosswise.
- Rinse the sponge regularly in between with water so that absorbed dirt does not scratch the paint again.
- Continue this way until the panel feels completely smooth, then move on to the next panel.
- Never use the sponge together with solvent-based products such as tar removers, as this will damage the polymer layer.
- Rinse the sponge thoroughly after use, let it dry, and store it in suitable packaging. Never expose it to temperatures above 40 °C.
