What is so special about the Roller Backing Plate?
The backing plate connects your polishing machine to your pad, and the diameter determines how you work. At 125 mm, you are using the classic all-around size: large enough to work smoothly across the hood, roof, and doors, yet still manageable around curves and edges. For most correction jobs, this is the plate you will use most often.
This version is specifically made for the ADBL Roller DA09 machine and features a 5/16-24 thread, the standard size for dual-action polishing machines. Therefore, always check whether your machine has that same connection.
A well-thought-out detail is the ventilation holes in the design. Polishing generates heat, both in the pad and in the plate, and that heat affects how your polish works and how quickly your pad becomes saturated. The ventilation helps dissipate that heat, which benefits the lifespan of your pads and yields a more consistent result during extended work.
The plate is equipped with hook-and-loop fasteners (Velcro), allowing you to quickly and tool-free switch between pads, for instance when going from a cutting pad to a finishing pad.

How do you use the Roller Backing Plate?
- Check that your machine's connection matches the 5/16-24 thread before mounting the plate.
- Make sure the machine is switched off and unplugged before attaching the plate.
- Screw the plate securely onto the spindle and check that it rotates without play and without vibrations.
- Press your polishing pad centrally and evenly onto the hook-and-loop fastener. An off-center pad causes vibrations and uneven correction.
- Always start with the pad against the panel before turning on the machine, and only lift it off when the machine has stopped.
- Change the pad as soon as it becomes saturated and keep the velcro free of polish residue.
- Clean the plate and velcro regularly, check the ventilation holes for blockages, and store the plate flat.
