What is so special about the Roller 75mm Backing Plate?
The backing plate is the component that connects your polishing machine to your pad, and its diameter determines how you work. A large plate makes quick progress on flat panels, but becomes awkward as soon as you reach bumper edges, mirror caps, pillars, or heavily curved parts. That is precisely where this 75 mm version comes in handy.
With this diameter, you work with smaller pads, which offers two advantages. You can reach areas where a large plate simply won't sit flat, and you concentrate pressure on a smaller surface area, giving you more correcting power in a specific spot. This makes it ideal for targeted correction of a scratch or defect, rather than working on an entire panel.
The plate is equipped with hook-and-loop fasteners (Velcro), allowing you to quickly change pads without tools. This lets you smoothly switch from a cutting pad to a finishing pad during the same job.
Important when purchasing: always check whether the connection fits your machine, and whether the plate is intended for rotary or dual-action use. They are not interchangeable.

How do you use the Roller 75mm Backing Plate?
- Check that the backing plate matches the type and connection of your polishing machine before mounting it.
- Make sure the machine is switched off and unplugged before attaching the plate.
- Screw or click the plate securely onto the machine's spindle and check that it rotates without play.
- Press your polishing pad centrally and evenly onto the hook-and-loop fastener. An off-center pad causes vibrations and uneven correction.
- Always start with the pad against the panel before turning on the machine, and only lift it off when the machine has stopped.
- Change the pad when it becomes saturated, and check each time that the velcro is clean and free of polish residue.
- Clean the velcro regularly and store the plate flat so that the foam and adhesion remain intact.
