What is so special about the Little Rascal Gold?
Engine bays are a separate discipline in detailing. The dirt there is different: baked-on oil, road grime, dust, and above all, oxidation on unprotected metal parts. A nylon brush is often too mild for that, while a steel brush is immediately too aggressive and damages the metal. ADBL's Little Rascal Gold sits right in between.
The copper bristles are the key. Copper is a softer metal than steel, making it powerful enough to loosen tarnish and oxidation without scrubbing away the underlying metal. This makes it suitable for unprotected metal parts and even for more sensitive material.
In practice, you mainly use it under the hood: when cleaning the engine bay, on air conditioning lines, aluminum parts and manifolds, on brake lines, and on connection points of jumper cables. This is also your go-to brush for removing oxidation.
Important to know: this brush is expressly not intended for painted parts, polished wheels, or sensitive plastics. Copper will leave traces on those surfaces. Therefore, use it with a targeted approach on the metalwork it was made for.

How do you use the Little Rascal Gold?
- Ensure the engine is cold and cover sensitive components such as electronics and connections before you start working in the engine bay.
- Use this brush exclusively on unprotected metal and robust parts, never on paintwork, polished wheels, or sensitive plastics.
- When in doubt, test on an inconspicuous area first.
- Apply your cleaning product, for example an APC in the correct dilution, and let it dwell briefly.
- Loosen the dirt or oxidation with short, targeted movements. Let the copper do the work and do not press unnecessarily hard.
- Regularly rinse out the brush in between and absorb the loosened dirt with a cloth or rinse the area with a small amount of water.
- Thoroughly rinse the brush after use and let it dry with the bristles facing down so that the copper does not tarnish.
