What is so special about the 5L Tap Cap?
Maneuvering a full five-litre jerrycan towards a spray bottle is always a bit of a balancing act, and one wrong move means product on your workbench. ADBL's Tap Cap solves this with a simple modification: you unscrew the original cap and screw on this tap cap. From then on, you simply place the can on its side or on the edge of your workbench and, with a quarter-turn of the lever, dispense the exact amount you need.
The on/off mechanism completely shuts off the flow, so nothing drips between fillings. Especially handy when working with dilutions: you hold your measuring cup or spray bottle under the tap and stop at the right mark, instead of guessing with a pouring stream.
The cap fits five-litre plastic jerrycans with a screw thread diameter of 50 mm, the standard size for most ADBL packaging and various other detailing brands. Please note: the Tap Cap does not fit five-litre metal cans or 25-litre cans.

How do you use the 5L Tap Cap?
- First check your packaging. The Tap Cap is designed for five-litre plastic jerrycans with a 50 mm thread, not for metal cans or 25-litre cans.
- Unscrew the original cap from the can and completely remove any foil or aluminium seal underneath it.
- Close the lever of the tap before mounting. This way, nothing can escape as soon as the can is turned on its side.
- Screw the Tap Cap straight and hand-tight onto the neck. Do not force or cross-thread it, otherwise the seal will not close properly.
- Lay the jerrycan on its side or place it on the edge of your workbench, with the tap just over the edge and your measuring cup or spray bottle underneath.
- Open the lever, dispense the desired amount, and close the lever immediately afterwards.
- Rinse the tap thoroughly with lukewarm water after use and let it dry, especially if you are going to use the cap on a different can. This prevents residue and mixing of products. Store the can upright when not in use.
