SPLUSHY BUCKET
The ADBL Splushy Bucket is the rinse bucket you need for the two-bucket method: the washing method where you rinse your wash mitt in a separate bucket in between. This keeps dirt out of your shampoo and minimizes the risk of scratches in your paintwork.
ADBL SPLUSHY BUCKET
What is so special about the Splushy Bucket?
Anyone who washes their car by hand often unknowingly causes the most damage during the washing process itself. Sand and dust particles that remain in your wash mitt are simply dragged back across the paintwork on the next pass. The result is so-called swirls or micro-scratches: those fine, circular scratches that are especially visible in direct sunlight. The ADBL Splushy Bucket solves this by taking on the role of the second bucket in the two-bucket method. You work with two buckets side by side: one with clean shampoo water to wash with, and this rinse bucket with clear water in which you rinse your wash mitt after every panel.
All the loosened dirt stays behind in the rinse bucket instead of ending up back in your shampoo. That one extra step makes a surprisingly big difference to how your paintwork looks in the long run. The bucket is solidly built and intended for intensive use, whether you detail professionally or just like to keep your own car neat. Also handy: you can, of course, just as easily use it as a wash bucket, or for rinsing your wheel brushes and cloths.
MANUAL
How do you use the Splushy Bucket?
- Set up two buckets side by side: one filled with shampoo water, and the Splushy Bucket with clean, clear water.
- Pre-rinse the car thoroughly with water first, so that the coarsest sand and dust are already gone before you touch the wash mitt.
- Dip your wash mitt into the shampoo bucket and wash one panel, using straight strokes from top to bottom and without applying too much pressure.
- Then rinse the wash mitt in the Splushy Bucket and wring it out, so that the picked-up dirt stays behind in the rinse water.
- Repeat this panel by panel, working from top to bottom; the lower parts of the car are the dirtiest and should be done last.
- Refresh the water in the rinse bucket as soon as it becomes noticeably cloudy, and preferably use a separate set of buckets for the wheels and sills.
- Rinse out the bucket after use and let it dry upside down, so that no residual dirt or limescale remains.
