What is so special about the Mr. Sponge?
During manual washing, sufficient lubrication between your tool and the paint is the most important safety principle. A sponge that retains little water works half dry and drags dirt across your paint. ADBL's Mr. Sponge is built precisely around this point.
The sponge is made of soft yet exceptionally durable foam and absorbs a tremendous amount of water. As a result, the surface remains well-hydrated during washing, which allows loosened dirt to flow away instead of sliding across the paint. That is what safe and efficient washing comes down to.
Cleverly designed is the double-sided construction. One side has a waffle structure, the other is smooth. This lets you choose what feels more comfortable to work with: the waffle side provides a bit more grip and holds water in the recessed pockets, while the smooth side glides more smoothly over large panels.
Practical point: the sponge is easy to keep clean, which counts during intensive use. Furthermore, it works well with both classic shampoos and rinseless wash systems, where you work without rinsing.

How do you use Mr. Sponge?
- Rinse the sponge with clean water before first use.
- Pre-wash the car thoroughly first with plenty of water or foam to loosen coarse dirt, so you do not drag it across the paint with the sponge.
- Preferably work with two buckets: one with shampoo solution and one with clean rinse water, each equipped with a grit guard.
- Dip the sponge into the shampoo bucket and make sure it is well saturated before touching the paint.
- Wash with light, straight movements from top to bottom. Avoid circular motions and do not press hard.
- Rinse the sponge regularly in the bucket with clean water, and save the dirtiest parts such as sills and the lower body for last.
- Rinse the sponge thoroughly after use until all dirt is gone and let it dry completely before storing it.
