What is so special about the Dirt Blocker?
Working with a dirt separator is one of the basic rules of safe detailing, and the reason is simple: the dirt you wash off your car ends up in your bucket. Without a separator, you simply pick that sand up again with your mitt on the next motion and drag it across your paint. This is precisely how the fine scratches form that you have to polish out afterward.
ADBL's Dirt Blocker places itself at the bottom of your bucket and acts as a one-way filter. When you rinse your wash mitt on it, the loosened dirt sinks through the honeycomb structure to the bottom and remains trapped underneath. Your mitt thus no longer comes into contact with the sediment.
What sets this separator apart is the shape of the top surface: it is designed so you can actively rub out your wash mitt or sponge on it during rinsing, which works more comfortably than with a standard separator. It is made of sturdy, durable plastic and fits in any 20-liter detailing bucket. Ideally, use it in both buckets when working with the two-bucket method.

How do you use Dirt Blocker?
- Lay the Dirt Blocker flat at the bottom of your wash bucket, with the honeycomb structure facing upwards.
- Fill the bucket with water and shampoo to well above the separator, so that your mitt can comfortably rinse out on it.
- Preferably work with two buckets, each with a separator: one with shampoo solution and one with clean rinse water.
- Wash a panel, and then rinse your wash mitt in the rinse bucket by rubbing it against the separator. This releases the dirt.
- Wring out the mitt over the rinse bucket and only then dip it back into the shampoo bucket.
- Repeat this after each panel. Change the water when it becomes clearly dirty, even with a separator.
- After washing, remove the separator from the bucket, rinse away the remaining sediment, and let everything dry.
