DryFinish Abrasive Disc 1500
Rupes X-Cut sanding discs are made with a unique abrasive material that leaves a soft and uniform sanding pattern, making these marks easy to polish out. Because these pads are soft and flexible, they easily accommodate small movements (shapes, curves) to ensure an even material removal. Consequently, these are the suitable pads for performing heavy correction work on flat and contoured panels.
Wet sanding is a complex and advanced process that requires the necessary knowledge and experience to master. It is therefore NOT recommended to do this without any practice. Sanding removes large amounts of paint per session, and a paint depth gauge is more than welcome for this.

RUPES X-CUT ABRASIVE DISC 1500
What is so special about the X-cut Abrasive Disc 1500?
Do you want to quickly and extremely evenly level-sand deep paint defects, orange peel, or dust nibs in the paint? The Rupes X-Cut Abrasive Disc 1500 is a premium sanding disc with a diameter of 125 or 150 mm, specifically developed for wet sanding. Thanks to the P1500 grit size, this disc offers an aggressive, yet extremely controlled sanding power.
What makes the X-Cut discs unique is the flexible foam layer with a fabric backing onto which the aluminum oxide abrasive grains are applied. This construction ensures perfect pressure distribution and effortlessly adapts to the contours and curves of the vehicle body. As a result, you sand with an extremely homogeneous scratch pattern, which significantly speeds up subsequent polishing steps and minimizes the risk of burning through the paint.
MANUAL
How do you use the X-cut Abrasive Disc 1500?
Ensure the surface to be treated is thoroughly washed and completely free of dirt or tar to prevent deep scratches during sanding. Attach the X-Cut sanding disc to a suitable interface pad on your random orbital sander or polisher (such as the Rupes Duetto or a similar short-throw DA machine).
Wet both the surface and the sanding disc with clean water (optionally with a drop of mild, biodegradable shampoo as a lubricant). Place the machine flat on the surface and start it at a low to medium speed. Move the machine over the paint in steady, overlapping passes without applying pressure; let the machine and the sanding disc do the work. Keep the surface constantly wet while sanding. Regularly wipe away the sanding residue with a squeegee or microfiber cloth to check your progress, and subsequently polish out the P1500 sanding marks with a coarse compound and a wool or coarse foam pad.
