What is so special about the IPA?
IPA is one of the basic products in every detailing kit. The reason is simple: polishing compounds leave behind oils that temporarily hide scratches. If you apply a coating or wax over that, it will adhere to the oil layer instead of your paint, resulting in significantly reduced durability.
ADBL's IPA is pure isopropanol, with no additives. You use it to degrease all painted and glass surfaces, and immediately also to assess the true result of your correction work: only after an IPA wipe do you see what scratches actually remain.
This is explicitly a concentrated product and not a ready-to-use spray. ADBL advises diluting it with demineralized water before use, in the ratio required for the job. Demineralized water is not a minor detail here: ordinary tap water contains limescale and minerals that leave behind spots after evaporating, precisely what you do not want on freshly polished paint.
Always work in a well-ventilated area, away from open flames, and wear gloves.

How do you use the IPA?
- Dilute the IPA with demineralized water in a spray bottle, depending on the desired strength for the job. Never use ordinary tap water.
- Work in a well-ventilated area, far from open flames or sparks, and wear gloves.
- Make sure the paint is clean and cool, and do not work in direct sunlight.
- Spray the solution evenly over the panel you want to degrease. Work panel by panel.
- Wipe immediately with a clean microfiber cloth until the surface is completely dry and no residue remains.
- Turn the cloth over regularly or take a fresh cloth so you do not smear the absorbed oils back onto the surface.
- Check the result under good light, polish further if necessary, and then immediately apply your protection without touching the degreased surface with bare hands.
