PPF Gel

What is so special about the PPF Gel?
Anyone who applies paint protection film knows that the positioning window is short. If the adhesive layer grabs too quickly, you have to peel the film back off, with the risk of deforming or stretching the material. That is precisely the problem an installation gel solves.
ADBL's PPF Gel is 99% water-based and supplemented with lubricants. This allows you to slide the film longer and position it accurately, which makes all the difference especially on difficult shapes: mirror caps, protruding parts, and strongly curved panels. Additionally, the gel reduces the risk of the adhesive layer setting and pulling along too early.
Two characteristics make it pleasant for professional use. The gel is safe for high-gloss black surfaces and for screens, where many installation fluids can leave marks or stains. And it is easy to rinse out, ensuring that no residues are left behind under or around the film after installation.
You dilute the gel up to a maximum of 1:3, depending on how much slip the job requires. An important prerequisite beforehand: the surface must be thoroughly cleaned and degreased, because every particle of dust or grease residue will become permanently visible under the film.

How do you use PPF Gel?
- Thoroughly clean and degrease the surface, for example with ADBL Surface Cleaner.
- Remove all dust and loose particles from the panel. Preferably work in a dust-free environment.
- Mix the gel with water in the ratio required for the job, up to a maximum of 1:3.
- Apply the gel to both the surface and the adhesive side of the film.
- Position the film accurately and take advantage of the extra working time to adjust it where necessary.
- Squeegee the film down, working from the center outward, and carefully seal the edges.
- Wipe away the residues with a clean microfiber cloth and check the result for trapped moisture or air bubbles.
