What is so special about the Roller Cut R?
Rotary machines require a different type of pad than dual-action machines. The constant rotational movement generates more heat and cutting power, and the pad must be able to handle that load without deforming. ADBL's Roller Cut R is built for just that.
As a cut pad, this is the most aggressive choice for the correction step: removing scratches, oxidation, and visible paint defects. It works with any type of polishing compound, so you are not tied to one specific formula or brand.
Two design choices make a difference in practice. The pad has an attachment surface that is larger than the backing plate itself, allowing you to quickly position and remove it without having to aim. Furthermore, the characteristic diamond shape of the foam was chosen for maximum efficiency and safety: this structure helps dissipate heat and ensures more uniform contact with the paint.
The pads are built from high-grade components with careful finishing, which benefits their lifespan during intensive use. They are available in three diameters, ranging from precision work to large panels.

How do you use the Roller Cut R?
- Choose the diameter that fits the job and your rotary machine's backing plate.
- Make sure the paint is completely clean and cool, and never work in direct sunlight.
- Press the pad centrally and evenly onto the hook-and-loop fastener of the backing plate so it is not misaligned and causing vibrations.
- Apply your polish sparingly to the pad and spread it gently over the surface before ramping up speed.
- Work at a controlled speed using cross-hatch movements and even pressure. Always start with the pad against the panel and only lift it off when the machine has stopped.
- Keep moving and keep an eye on heat buildup. With a rotary machine, this builds up faster than with a DA.
- Clean the pad periodically with compressed air or a pad cleaner, wash it out after use, and let it air dry lying flat.
