TFR
ADBL TFR stands for Traffic Film Remover: an alkaline pre-wash that removes the dull road film from your car. The low-foaming formula quickly penetrates the dirt and loosens it, without requiring you to shake the bottle first, unlike two-phase products.
ADBL TFR
What is so special about the TFR?
Traffic film is that dull, grey-brown haze that settles over your entire car after a few weeks of driving. It is a mixture of exhaust soot, brake dust, oil residues, and splashed road dirt, and it clings more stubbornly than ordinary dust. A regular shampoo only partially removes that layer, which forces you to scrub and thus risks creating scratches.
ADBL TFR tackles this problem chemically. It is an alkaline product, meaning the formula is on the basic side of the pH scale and therefore exceptionally good at breaking down greases and organic dirt. You apply it as a pre-wash: the product loosens the layer of dirt so that you can simply rinse it away afterwards, even before your wash mitt touches the paint. This is immediately the safest way of working, because any dirt you remove chemically is dirt you do not have to remove mechanically.
Notably, the formula is intentionally low-foaming. As a result, the product does not sit on top of the dirt as a thick layer of foam, but penetrates it more quickly. ADBL compares its cleaning power to that of two-phase products, with the practical advantage that you do not need to shake the bottle. Besides as a pre-wash, you can also use TFR to remove insect residue and for steel or painted wheels.
MANUAL
How do you use TFR?
- Work in the shade on a cool car and never let the product dry on the paint.
- Test the product on an inconspicuous spot first, especially on unpainted plastic or polished metal.
- Prepare the solution in a ratio of 1 to 5 percent for pre-wash and insect residues; this amounts to approximately 10 to 50 ml of product per liter of water.
- For steel or painted wheels, mix stronger, namely 1:10, which is about 100 ml per liter of water; do not use this on polished, anodized, or untreated wheels.
- Pre-rinse the car with water and then apply the solution from bottom to top using a pressure sprayer or foam lance.
- Let the product dwell briefly while keeping the paint wet in the meantime; rinse off immediately at the first signs of drying.
- Rinse thoroughly with a pressure washer and then proceed with your normal shampoo wash.
