What's the best way to clean your dirty ATV for a like-new result?

Quads take a beating: deep mud, sand, water, stones and dust pile up very quickly.

Because a quad bike has many exposed parts (suspension, drivetrain, differential, plastic parts), a good washing routine is essential. By cleaning your quad bike properly, you protect its components, prevent wear, and keep it running smoothly and reliably for longer.

Prevents wear and rust - Mud and sand act like sandpaper on rotating parts
Better performance & safety - Clean brakes, visible leaks and a well-lubricated drivetrain
Extended lifespan - Regular cleaning prevents unnecessary damage to bearings, springs and plastic

STEP 1: Preparation!

Place your quad on a stable stand and let it cool completely. Tape off sensitive parts like the air filter or use a duct tape. Don't forget to seal your exhaust.

STEP 2: Pre-wash!

Rinse the engine thoroughly with water (preferably low pressure to prevent damage). Use a pre-wash foam like Q2M Foam to loosen the dirt so you won't have to scrub as hard later. Use an insect remover to loosen stubborn bugs without scrubbing. Mud and dirt stuck to your tires and rubber can easily be removed with Q2M Tire Cleaner and a tire brush.

STEP 3: Handwash

Use a mild but powerful engine cleaner, working from top to bottom. Use separate brushes for the chain, frame, and plastic parts to prevent scratches. For your plastic parts, we recommend a soft washcloth like the Incredimitt. For your rims, use a rim brush like the Incredibrush. And for your chain, use the MaxShine Tire Scrub Brush. Want an extra dirt-repellent layer? Then definitely use a product like Q2M Bathe+ to prevent new dirt from adhering to your motorcycle.

STEP 4: Clean the drive and chain!

Mud accumulates between the links. Clean your chain with a chain cleaner and brush (MaxShine Tire Scrub Brush), then rinse and let dry. Use a degreaser to remove excess grease, and don't forget to re-grease your chain afterward!

STEP 5: Aftercare & lubrication!

Dry the ATV thoroughly (preferably with a microfiber cloth or air blower to remove water from crevices). Re-lubricate the chain and treat any plastic parts with a UV and dehydration protector.

After every ride in mud or sand. For dry rides, a weekly wash is sufficient.

Yes, but be careful. Stay away from bearings, electrical connections, air intakes, and gearbox openings. Always use low pressure.

A powerful pre-wash foam like Q2M Foam is suitable for mud, sand, and clay. Quads tend to be more heavily soiled than motorcycles.

Use a degreaser and long brushes. Lift the quad bike slightly or use a work stand for better access.

Use chain cleaner and a brush. Rinse, dry, and lubricate the chain regularly.

Yes, but never use gloss products on the tread, only on the sidewalls.

Use a spray sealant or plastic protector. This will prevent mud from sticking and make your next wash much faster.
